Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth, which are the third set of the molar teeth, are the last teeth in the mouth to erupt. The average adult does not have enough space in their jaws to accommodate the eruption of these teeth into the correct position. Early evaluation and treatment of wisdom teeth helps prevent present or future problems such as possible crowding, tooth damage or infection from occurring.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide an artificial root which acts as the foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel and function just like natural teeth. Dental implants can be used to support a single crown, replace a bridge, and provide a full-arch of teeth replacing your removable dentures.
Bone Grafting
Over a period of time, the jawbone in the areas of missing teeth atrophies and reabsorbs away. This often leaves a condition in which there is poor quality and quantity of bone. Today, we have the ability to graft bone where needed. This gives us the opportunity to place implants for tooth replacement, but also gives us a chance to restore functionality and aesthetic appearance.
Corrective Jaw Surgery
Corrective jaw surgery, also known as orthognathic surgery, is a surgical procedure performed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons to correct a wide range of skeletal and dental irregularities in the jaw and face. Dr. Andrew Mather believes that through dedication and attention to detail comes excellence. This pursuit of excellence led Dr. Mather to specialize in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
This additional training has provided him with the expertise to manage more complex oral surgical procedures such as wisdom teeth extraction, dental implants, bone grafting, and maxillofacial reconstructive procedures such as corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) and facial cosmetic surgery.
